The Urban Southern Story...
Urban Southern began in a small family harness shop in Tennessee, where craftsmanship was a part of everyday life. What started as a simple, thoughtful gesture—a husband creating a leather handbag for his wife—quickly became something more.
That one tote sparked an idea: to create a line of women’s leather-goods rooted in quality, function, and timeless design. From those early days in the shop, the brand began to take shape, growing piece by piece into what Urban Southern is today.
While our southern roots run deep, our journey eventually brought the brand to Pennsylvania, where we expanded our product line to include men’s leather-goods and home products.
Though we’ve grown, we’ve never lost sight of where we came from. The “Southern” in our name is a reflection of those beginnings—of tradition, craftsmanship, and a slower, more intentional way of doing things.

Handmade & High-Quality
Handcrafted in our shop in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, our bags are made with the highest quality leather possible. For most of our designs, that means thick, rich, full-grain leather - the highest grade of leather there is. Full-grain leather has never been sanded down or processed so it retains all of its natural strength and beauty. This truly gorgeous leather also develops its own patina over time, becoming softer and more beautiful the longer you carry it.
